Monoethylene Glycol
(also known as ethylene glycol) is
a versatile chemical compatible with water and numerous organic
compounds. It is often used in applications requiring its ability to
depress the freezing point. It easily reacts with intermediates, and
provides desirable solvent, lubricant, plasticizing, and hygroscopic
properties.
Monoethylene Glycol is used to
manufacture polyester fibers, resins for plastic bottles and recording
tape, automotive antifreeze and engine coolants.
