Methanol is a colorless, odorless and nearly tasteless alcohol. This clear, biodegradable liquid is usually made from natural gas. It is used to manufacture numerous industrial and consumer products such as paints and adhesives, synthetic textiles, foam cushions and pillows, recyclable plastics, and others.
Methanol is also used to produce a fuel component that makes gasoline to burn
more cleanly and produces fewer emissions. In addition, Methanol is used to remove nitrates from municipal wastewater.
